Arizona Police Departments Enlist Brady List Officers

ABC 15 goes investigates AZ police departments with Brady List officers and the damage they have done.

Since the 1963 Supreme Court case Brady v. Maryland, police departments have been required to publicly disclose any misconduct performed by of their officers. These disclosed lists been been called “Brady Lists” and are usually created by each individual department and county. ABC 15 uncovered that many departments throughout the state of Arizona have on staff officers that have been released or resigned from other departments for misconduct. This is due, in a large part, to the fact there is no shared database of Brady Lists between these different departments. If an officer is on the Brady List from any department, they must not be allowed to return to the profession of law enforcement.
